Our Story
About Us
Clayton Humane is an active nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Clayton County and surrounding communities. We provide shelter, daily care, and adoption services for homeless, abandoned, and at-risk animals while working with community partners to support pet owners and improve animal welfare.
We continue to actively care for animals and work toward placing them in adoptive homes while expanding our adoption and community support efforts.
Our mission is to create a community where all animals receive appropriate care, love and attention at all times; are treated with dignity and respect; provided necessary veterinary care; and protected from all forms of cruelty, abuse and neglect.

What We Do
Animal Shelter & Care
We provide shelter, food, and medical care for animals in need while they await placement in adoptive homes.
Adoption Services
We facilitate adoptions and work to place animals in safe, loving, permanent homes.
Community Education
We educate the public on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying and neutering.
Who We Serve
We serve animals in need and residents of Clayton County and surrounding communities by providing shelter, adoption opportunities, and support through partnerships with local organizations.

Serving the Animals
We are a “no-kill” animal rescue facility, operating in the southern metro-Atlanta area. We provide a loving, caring environment to our animals until permanent placement in adoptive homes can be achieved. NO ANIMAL IS EVER EUTHANIZED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. While in our care, animals are provided with shelter, nutritious food, medical care for illness and injury, preventative vaccinations, and all animals are sterilized prior to adoption. Though the care of our animals is our main priority, we also feel that it is important to educate the public regarding the importance of spaying and neutering, responsible pet ownership, and the humane treatment of all animals.
Looking Ahead
Clayton Humane is actively working to rebuild and expand its programs. In the future, we aim to restore critical services such as:
Low-cost spay and neuter programs

Our Impact
Every day, we provide lifesaving care to animals who have nowhere else to go. Through adoption, community partnerships, and volunteer support, we are working to create a more compassionate community for both pets and people.
